Esri Careers Website

Giving a corporate recruiting web experience a dynamic and interactive makeover

The Goal

Develop a website and visual identity for Esri’s recruiting efforts

With 120K+ annual visitors, Esri needed a fun and engaging microsite to interest potential candidates in the company, technology, and culture.

Art direction

Mixing creativity, diversity, and science

Being a mapping company rooted in science and technology, I wanted the look and feel to appeal to highly technical and creative audiences alike. I was inspired by painters like Emma Lindström, who’s abstract work with liquid textures look so much like the beautiful maps that Esri’s users create.

Website

An all-new approach

I introduced bold typography and generous negative space to create clean, focused moments that guide users through the content—a fresh approach for Esri.com, which had traditionally been a dense and utilitarian site.

Interactive map

A fun feature for job seekers

Using ArcGIS and some custom magic, we developed an interactive map that lets users select a region with a lasso tool to view job results in that area.

Project details

  • Esri’s recruiting department wanted to breath new life into the Careers section of Esri.com by making it easier to use and more visually representative of Esri’s personality.

We developed a new website, built a custom map application, and created marketing and print materials for use by the recruitment team within HR.

  • 2019 – 2020

  • I created the artwork and built out all the designs for the website, digital, and print materials. I designed the map application, including the basemap, symbology, and interactions with the lasso tool.
